I can tell you unequivocally that not enough is being done to ensure infrastructure, passenger and employee safety. The focus is not on true security, but on the “impression” that something is being done. If one wants to truly protect the “Nation in Transit” a true top to bottom restructuring must be implemented.

Having a Police Force under a civilian board of directors and Corporation, instead of under a Federal agency and the regulation of a decent decree with IG oversight is one of the First Steps that must be implemented. Too often we are used as “window dressing” to appease civilian management types as opposed to what we should be doing which is protecting our infrastructure, passengers and employees.
