Do you realize that offshore platforms of the Gulf coast have created the largest artificial reef system in the world? Do you realize that thousands of species of fish, coral, and other animals thrive under the oil rigs? By dismantling old platforms, we would be destroying habitat to a variety of animals. Where else in the world is it legal to blow up living coral reef and remove entire ecosystems?
