Might I suggest we also try to un-stigmatize changing one’s mind and praise people who have the propensity and courage to evolve thoughtfully? Especially during the Bush years, changing one’s mind was a character flaw, a weakness. “Flip-flopping”. I think some in the GOP would have change of hearts if they weren’t neutered for it. Such strict adherence to a platform is often counterproductive, as we’ve seen.
