I work in a pharmacy and i think this new drug testing idea is a great one. almost half of our customers who are on narcotics are obviously dealing them and not taking them. this new law will prevent them from at least being able to get them for a dollar or less and sell them on the streets.

Welfare is a legal Entitlement, a right of all Americans since the 1930’s, like it or not! Please post about how you have to drug-test for your chosen job (though most don’t), outrageous items you’ve seen in their shopping carts (esp. lobster), nice cars they’re driving and how they’re ALL drug addicts YOU are having to support with your taxes (if you actually pay them and don’t get yours back, and some). Amendment 4 – Search and Seizure. Ratified 12/15/1791. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

In reply to Anonymous. As most of us have noticed, Republicans/Tea Partiers only quote and promote the Constitution when it is beneficial to them. Otherwise, it's used as toilet paper. I'm with Stephen -- go ahead and drug test the public aid recipients. But you will also need to test the politicians receiving their salaries from public monies. Fair is fair.

As stated in the article, I would support mandatory drug testing for welfare recipients if such testing for drugs and alcohol abuse were applied to all applicants for public office. Regular testing would also be necessary for such persons to maintain their office as well. Let the laws which apply to the people apply to them as well.
