I am a Truman/Humphrey Democrat. Even that is true, I must respect Richard Nixon as a liberal Republican. He helped the poor, the aged and those who were unable to help themselves. He supported a moderate form of the New Deal and Great Society. He was a Republican in the tradition of Abe Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Wendell Wilkie. He did do somethings that were wrong;however, he did get us out of Vietnam, war in which so many were killed and I probably would not have servived. History will judge Nixon in a brighter light than it did in the 1970’s.
