Ms. McCreery and her backers are fully aware of this. It is unfortunate that their “it’s my way or the highway” attitude seriously risks putting what has always been a solidly Democratic seat in Republican hands. 

This election is only to fill Jake Zimmerman’s remaining term. Next year Ms. McCreery can run in the Democratic primary as should anyone who truly cares about progressive causes in Missouri. 

I urge all 83rd district progressives in Overland, Olivette and University City to support the Democratic Party candidate, Jeff O’Connell. Mr. O’Connell has solid legislative experience with real accomplishments while serving a Councilman for the City of Overland.   He serves as a Committeeman for the Democratic party and as an official of Laborers Local 42. 

He is a pro-choice, pro-labor, pro-equality rights for all people and has a record of supporting a strong and vibrant Democratic Party. Please take the time to go vote on November 8th for Jeff O’Connell, the only real Democrat.
