I will go again for sure. Most of the people were friendly and I did enjoy seeing some of the really old guns. (And Calvary swords, badges, and other assorted things)

I’ve been to a few with my husband, who collects guns and has competed in target-shooting competitions. The guy who told you that about the zip ties was either outright lying or trying to gauge your reaction with his “joke”. The most recent gun show that we attended, at the St. Charles Convention Center, was staffed by private security and also by uniformed St. Charles County officers. They check all weapons to make sure that they are unloaded. One loud-mouth guy who was waving a (presumably unloaded) gun around was told to leave by the cops for some transgression; I heard him complaining bitterly about it to his friends.
