You are on the wrong side here. Write a story about from where the fluoride is derived that cities use? You hammered on the “benefits,” but are you sure there are no adverse side-effects? Did you even bother to look?

So if I do not want someone else putting rat poison in my water, then I am a right-wing, anti-government, anti-science bumpkin who cannot determine what is in my own interests.

Is it any wonder why millions of us are repelled by the smug, hypocritical attitude of progressives? It is like intellectual bullying, without the intelligence.

Fluoride causes dental fluorosis. This causes mottled, pitted, and brittle teeth. The mottling can be seen as white, yellow, brown, or black spots on the teeth. It is quite expensive to correct with veneers. Dental fluorosis is a sign of fluoride overexposure. The “pitting” often results in cavities. And dental fillings rarely hold well in brittle teeth which often results in expensive dental crowns. Brittle teeth also chip, requiring dental crowns. All in all, fluoridation benefits the dental industry. There are more dentists in fluoridated areas than non-fluoridated areas for a reason… more business. Eighty percent of children living in fluoridated areas now have dental fluorosis. Currently 72% of the USA is receiving artificially fluoridated water and it isn’t even pharmaceutical grade. It is coming from the phosphate fertilizer industry as they have plenty of pollution containing fluoride to dispose of. They sell this pollution at a 20,000% mark-up. Selling pollution is quite lucrative. Unfortunately, 99% of this expensive industrial waste is used to flush toilets, water the lawn, wash cars, irrigate crops, etc. It is therefore largely wasted. Due to the hypothyroid effects induced by fluoride, it delays the eruption of children’s teeth, sometimes by up to two years. This gives the statistical illusion it prevents cavities. The longer teeth are in the mouth, the more prone they become to cavities. H. Trendly Dean, the “father of fluoridation” even admitted in court under oath (on two different occasions) that his research, purporting to prove his fluoridation hypothesis, was invalid. Fluoride is also a neurotoxin (See Dr. Phyllis Mullenix). Fluoride increases the risk of Cancer (See Dr. Dean Burk).

Fluoride is not even a nutrient. In 1979 the FDA required the deletion of all government references previously classifying fluoride as “essential or probably essential”, (Federal Register, March 16, 1979, page 16006).

The fact that the halogen fluoride displaces iodine in the thyroid gland and body isn’t pseudo-science. It’s a fact. Fluoride compounds depress thyroid function. It was once used to threat HYPERthyroidism by having people drink or bathe in artificially fluoridated water. This treatment was discontinued when it was found that consuming fluoride compounds cause hypothyroidism, goiter, destroys the thyroid gland, and even causes thyroid cancer. Hypothyroidism causes elevated cholesterol levels. Hyperthyroidism causes low cholesterol levels. Before statin drugs, elevated cholesterol was simply treated as hypothyroidism. When hypothyroidism gets severe enough, it mimics the symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease. Fluoride also allows aluminum to cross the blood-brain barrier giving rise to plaques and tangles which is seen in Alzheimer’s Disease patients. The 2006 National Research Council’s report on fluoridation also links fluoride to Alzheimer’s Disease. This report was paid for by the CDC. For some reason it’s been ignored.
