I agree but didn’t the House GOP support the bill without the added provisions, how does that make them on the right side of things, rather than change bad laws, there are also myths such as one out of every 5 woman being sexually assaulted, yet it keeps getting repeated, liberals and progressives often criticized and rightly so the gop for using exaggerated statistics and made up heritage foundation numbers, they should not copy them.
]]>I have personally witnessed, been harassed and threatened by, and heard of more women being stalker-ish, jealous, abusive, out-of-control and violent to both men and children. But when the cops come to the house for domestic violence, 90% of the time, the man goes to jail… even if SHE started the fight.
Women are NOT always victims, and I’m so annoyed with so many of us claiming that we are. We do NOT need more laws to “protect” certain people… we need to start teaching conflict resolution and interpersonal skills to everyone. Instead of running to big daddy government (the police and the courts) like we did in school, we need to teach people how to respect one another and resolve conflict in ways that do not inflate our tax bills or expand the ever-expanding powers of government.
Before posting an article like this, how about doing some research about how local tax dollars are wasted on this garbage and how many men’s lives are ruined because a stupid chick he’s dating decides to spit in his face, curse him out, slap him or otherwise provoke him and when he tries to restrain her, she yells “Domestic Violence!” and he goes to jail… you would be surprised at how much money is wasted on this issue.
The more I learn about it, the more disgusted I feel that I used to call myself a feminist. Not anymore. This stuff has to end. Good riddance VAWA.
