Yes, I agree, Author. Wilson has some measure of responsibility, however, with the punishment not fitting the crime is a bigger issue. More than likely, it is incorporated in a black man’s lifestyle to avoid the corrupt law, especially, “white cops”. It’s not important to give these armed law violators reason to disturb our groove, when attending their own business, such as walking down the street, on or off the curb. It’s nit picking, because the “white cop” knows more than likely, blacks are not going to be defensive in the courtroom because of the petty offense as well as the fear of losing a case that can award more time if convicted!! The cop is aware of the petty reasons they use to intimidate the offender, feeling superior. Not all cops, just majority. With a public defense attorney that works for the state anyway and feels most of minorities fit the crime, they’re fighting for a lesser charge and not an acquittal. Unfortunately, Mike Brown can’t attend his court day for his petty offense, but instead was sentenced to death. Whether it’s believed or not, most black men don’t stand a chance against the system, and the system knows this. If the shoe was on the other foot, they’d say it’s too small.
