There seems to be no point to these actions, aside from appeasing an uninformed extremist minority voting against their own self-interests, and no forethought either. Certainly these are not the actions of “fiscal conservatives”. The cost of not expanding Medicaid is simply breathtaking and absolutely no one wins. Not the people (the same taxpayers paying for the GOP’s ineptitude) who can’t afford medical treatment, not the medical professionals who are losing their jobs, not the hospitals and clinics that are overwhelmed and closing their doors. Missouri Republicans are failures on seemingly every level.
