I completely agree with your assertion that self-interest is fueling the griping, though. The amount of money spent in a presidential election year is simply astonishing. This raises a question for me: when we talk about campaign finance reform, are we talking about job loss as well? I feel like reform is absolutely necessary and fixes a laundry list of political issues (pay to play, for example) but ideally we could do this without economic fallout.
