In reply to Arthur Lieber. My thoughts too. He certainly lost credibility with the Palin pick/2008 election and he's moved to the right on many domestic policies. He's known and respected as someone who will put country before party, though. Maybe he has enough maverick left in him to end his career with integrity, to lead the charge against corruption at the highest level.

Such a person, a Trump-era Howard Baker, would be respected by many. What are your thoughts on John McCain? He still has some chutzpah and has recently said Trump’s actions have reached Watergate level. He seems a likely candidate.
