Thanks for posting this. I had not heard of Humphrey or H.R. 1987, but it’s sure good to know there are some sane and conscientious conservatives still out there with the courage of their convictions. Pence certainly seems saner and more apt to act (or not) on the counsel of his advisors but I worry that he has supported so much of Trump’s insanity. Hopefully he is just being a “good VP” and with Trump out of the picture, he will show himself to be closer to the middle than the hateful alt-right.
It’s distressing that Trump gets away with so much while President Obama couldn’t even get away with wearing a tan suit or reading from a teleprompter. I guess that’s the usual Republican hypocrisy in action. It doesn’t appear they are willing to discard and replace our national embarrassment, no matter how bad he makes them look. What are they up to, other than spitefully dismantling Obama’s legacy?
